Porche Duo to be Featured at Rolling Into Roanoke 2018

Kevin Parks is what you'd call a Lucky Guy.

How lucky?

The kind of guy that owns not one, but two Porsches lucky.

And, truth be told, we’re feeling lucky too. He is bringing both Porsches to the 2018 show! Kevin’s 1960 Porsche 356 and 1970 Porsche 911 will be featured on Main Street with all of our “Across the Pond” European-made featured cars.

1960 PORSCHE 356

This silver 1960 Porsche 356B [below] was purchased in California about a decade or so ago by the late Larry Dent – a well-known local car guy. Over the course of a few years, Larry did a total restoration of the 356. He considered it an “Outlaw” because he swapped the engine, changed the body and interior colors, and swapped out the drum brakes for disks. Kevin said, “I’ve enjoyed it now for about two years... which is nearly as long as it took me to convince Larry to sell it.”

1970 PORSCHE 911

The 1970 Porsche 911T [top image] was the predecessor to Kevin’s 356. He bought it about four years ago from a Porsche collector that had 40+ cars and was "thinning his collection." (Who does that?!) It was originally modified by a shop in Connecticut about seven years ago. The engine/transmission actually had original matching numbers to the car. “The shop did a bit of work – adding rear flares, a front air dam, and a rear Ducktail spoiler,” he explained. “Although not noticeable from the outside, the brake system, suspension, transmission, and engine were all refreshed over this past winter.”
