Cool, Classic 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Joins Lineup

Our next feature is a little bit different than the rest! This ride isn't a European make or model, but it is still pretty unique. What makes this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS different?

It's an original 4-speed with air conditioning.

We know, we know. You might be scratching your head, thinking, "What does that have to do with anything?" But, as an original car from '69, most factory models then only had air conditioning if they were automatic. It's pretty unusual to find a manual with both!

Tim Bland is the proud owner of this cool (...literally) 4-speed Chevelle, and he'll be bringing it to Rolling into Roanoke 2018. We caught up with him to learn more about what else makes this car a favorite of his.

"Of all the cars I really like (which is a lot!), the ’69 Chevelle has always been one of my favorites," Tim said. "I purchased it in 2005, and what drew me to this particular car was its uniqueness." Tim also mentioned his Chevelle has spent its entire life in Indiana! It is extremely solid, too – all of the body panels are original. It has also retained its original, numbers matching, engine. "I have the complete history of the car. I even talked to the original owner. The icing on the cake was the fact that it’s a factory 4-speed with A/C," Tim told us. "I personally did the restoration on the car. With the exception of the wheels – I have the originals – I wanted it to look as it did when it rolled off the assembly line."
